A picture of them holding the jar through the years....missing a year....not sure where that pic went.
The kiddos were so excited to start on their thankful jar projects and I was just like, meh. I didn't have the right attitude for this season of gratitude.....so I started doodling down some of the things I was thankful for. It definitely helps to write things down! I still have it displayed today!
Avery has the most amazing teacher....like that there ever was or will be. For real. She was teaching the kiddos all about kindness and gratitude and service. She encouraged the kids to do random acts of kindness. Avery was totally on board and decided to make each of her classmates a homemade perler bead design. She catered to each kids interests, put so much thought and effort into it. I was so proud of her. She even wrote each kiddo a little note. The first little fella she gave hers to is a kid that she says doesn't have a lot of friends. She said he hugged her, smiled big all day and kept telling her thank you Avery over and over and over again. Avery was all smiles too. A great lesson for her as she said it made her feel really good to do something so nice and to make someone so happy.
Blake loves to practice his writing.
Remember, remember the 5th of November. Every year on bonfire night some neighbors behind us have the biggest bonfire and fireworks. I think it's cold and rainy pretty much every year.....this year may have been the coldest. I almost didn't go out as it was just as pretty watching from our warm living room.......but did go out to snap a few pics.
We came home from our Thanksgiving trip to France and that very night I kept noticing our front security lights going off. I would peek out the window and never saw anything. Never heard a knock or the doorbell ring, but got a text from an amazing friend to open the front door.....and we found this!
We are so very thankful for friends like YOU!!
Kids all dressed up for their Primary Program
Friends over for dinner....
And Derek and I got a random date night! Woohoo!! Lunch at a fav pub and antique shopping.
