More March Highlights

The rest of our March highlights......

The weather really went back and forth in March. We had some cold days with a dusting of snow. The girls got excited about that.

We had one weekend of super gorgeous weather! Derek had that Friday off and we took advantage and went to Cambridge for the day. Then after we picked up the girls from school we let (okay we made) the kids play outside while Derek and I napped I the hammock.

We had game night with friends a couple times in March. So fun! Made these fun treats for one them.

And...Avery is still writing/drawing pictures for her teachers. Like ALL the time. (though now that soccer has started she has slowed down. We are so crazy busy!)

It says: "Dear Ms. Shafer, I am not going to be here for 3rd grade. I would've come to your classroom a lot of times. I will miss you very much!"   She said that because she makes things for her previous teacher all the time and then goes and asks her current teacher if she can go give it to her! I told Avery that might hurt her teachers feelings if she isn't giving her notes that day. I don't know how many times I've told her if she has something for other teachers she needs to find a time before school starts to give it to them, but I'm finding out that that doesn't happen very often.

Easter and We've Been Rak'd!!

Getting so far behind on posts. Just crazy busy and probably shouldn't be doing this. Really considering giving up the blog but there is a part of me that wonders if I will regret it in the future......the other part of me is thinking I should keep my sanity now and enjoy my "free time" doing something other than keeping up the blog.

For Easter this year we colored eggs.

2 of the 3 kids even tried eating the eggs

We continued the tradition of making a bunny cake (though we didn't hand any out this year)

On Easter Sunday we came home from church to find that we had been RAK'd!!! There were 40 eggs scattered throughout our yard. Our first RAK of this sort and we are so very grateful for this! It was an opportunity for my kids to see that doing RAKs and nice things for others does pay off!

There was an egg with each of our names and inside were some sweet notes.

We walked into the house to find more amazing things that had been slid in through our mail slot.

That was for sure the highlight of our Easter this year..... and the kids favorite egg hunt. We did our own, but it rained on us. Plus Derek and I forgot to put out their "baskets" which we failed to do this year.....so it was just books and GIANT Kinder eggs......so we did another hunt once it stopped raining just for those things.

Avery slipped and fell right as the egg hunt started so Derek ended up getting eggs for her.

Come to find out Allie doesn't like Diary of a Wimpy kid so between that and Avery falling during the other egg hunt......now you know why we were EXTRA SUPER grateful for our friends who surprised us with the best one ever! ;)
