Mulberry Fields

Yesterday, for Allie's birthday, we decided to head towards Indianapolis. Actually, just north of Indy in the Carmel/Westfield/Zionsville area. We met Bryan for lunch at Red Robin where Allie got her free birthday meal, balloons and an ice cream sundae. They also sang to her. I wasn't sure how she would react to that but she just sat there and smiled.

After we ate we shopped around a little bit since Red Robin was at the outdoor mall (Clay Terrace). Both girls ended up getting new sunglasses and a couple new outfits.

Then.......it was time to hit the splash pad to cool off! It was so humid out, probably because it was about to storm. It took us a while to find this place called Mulberry Fields Park, but with the help of Aunt Carma we found it and the girls really loved playing there. It did start raining for a little bit but Mom and I just took cover under the pavillion and the girls played on the playground.

realizing it's not so scary after all

Once we were done we went over to Christen, Trenton & Jenna's house and the kids got to play a little before we all headed to dinner along with Carma, Bill and Jon -- Paradise Cafe. I wish I would have got a pic of how we looked after making our way into the cafe in the POURING rain!

It was a loooonnngg day! Allie was smart and fell asleep right away. Avery was doing everything possible to keep from going to sleep -- and she did just that up until the last 5 minutes.
