Mother's Day, Church Farm, Easter Egg Hunt and a Whole Lotta Random

Last post (unless I update on the girls' soccer games this week) until after Spring Break..........so excited!!! Friday can't get here quick enough!

Yesterday was Mother's Day here in the UK. The kids got me some flowers and made me lots of cards. I was really impressed with this one from Avery.

We sprang forward Saturday night. The past two mornings have been glorious!! Children are actually still sleeping when I get up!!

The girls didn't have school on Friday so naturally we set out on an adventure. I let them pick again. This time they chose Church Stow Farm. It was only 10 minutes down the road. Ha! Who knew!?!

It's lambing season here so there were tons of baby lambs. Each of the kids got to feed them a bottle of milk. I took a video but it got deleted. :(

Derek's Squadron had their Children's Easter Egg hunt on Saturday.

Allie's not too happy here because she didn't get one of the golden eggs. She didn't think it was fair that they were so high up.

Blake didn't want to get anywhere near the Easter Bunny. He's terrified of all costumed characters. Next week should be interesting!

The entire weekend has been absolutely beautiful. We started building a playhouse earlier in the week and were able to get a lot accomplished Saturday afternoon. The kids had so much fun playing in the yard while we were working (and helping when they could help!)

Playhouse Progress

oh yeah, Derek also made a rope swing this weekend.

One day this past week I watched one of my friends' kids. Blake loves having friends over to play. I think he is getting tired of being with Mommy all the time. :( This little girl has never really been left with anyone before. She is always with her Momma. So she was very clingy and Blake just wanted her to play with him! He was doing everything to get her attention. He started out with some pull ups....

That didn't work so he tried push-ups......

Didn't work either, so he drove up on his "cycle"

Maybe?

Nope! Still not impressed!! :)

I forgot to take a picture of Allie in her new shirt but I remembered to get one of Avery....this is for you Mom!

Here is one of Allie last weekend when we went geocaching...we had so much fun. I can't believe it had been so long since we had been last. Geocaching is great because it usually brings you to places that you don't always know about. This particular trip took us to an awesome park we didn't know about!

Last, pics of Blake from Saint Patrick's Day. He and I went on a walk along the river near our house so I had to take some pics. Sorry so many. I couldn't decide which one I liked best. He just  melts my heart!!

Allie's Powerpoint Presentaion

Allie has been working on a school project for a couple months now. She did it all at school......and all on her own. She picked the animal she would research, did all of the research on her own, created the powerpoint presentation, turned pictures into jpegs, etc. So VERY proud of her! It's awesome!!!

The Band Perry

Last night the USO sponsored The Band Perry at Lakenheath.......so a FREE concert for us!! It actually worked out really well. Avery had her first soccer practice at Lakenheath last night from 5:30-6:30. The doors for the concert opened at 6. We went there after practice (Avery in her soccer cleats, Derek in his shorts and sweatshirt --he's one of Avery's coaches, and the rest of us in our St Patrick's day attire) haha. We only stayed for about an hour but it was very cool. We even snuck our way up to the very front!! The girls do know a few of their songs so we figured this would sort of make up for selling their Taylor Swift concert tickets.....I think it worked. It was a great time!

Just pics

from the past couple of weeks.

This was this this morning.

Yesterday I met with Col, his wife & SHIRT for "coffee". Afterwards Blake and I took a walk through the foggy woods.

Feeding ducks after school

Lots of time on the trampoline!

And one day Blake decided he didn't want to take a nap. I heard him up playing and told him he needed to get back in bed. It got quiet but I didn't hear any movement so I knew he didn't get back in bed. I walked upstairs and couldn't find him anywhere. Finally I saw this.....

FROZEN

I'm starting to like Frozen more and more. That show and my kids always singing songs from it are so inspiring. "Let It Go" is one of my new favorite songs and, after really listening to the words, fits the way I feel so well.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen.
A kingdom of isolation,
and it looks like I'm the Queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in;
Heaven knows I've tried
Don't let them in,
don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel,
don't let them know
Well now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care
what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on.
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance
Makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me
Can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me,
I'm free!
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand
And here I'll stay
Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway!

Norwich

It was a beautiful day to explore a new city! We've been meaning to head to Norwich for quite a while now.....it's only a 40 minute drive from us. It's one of the biggest cities in all of England. It has several malls similar to those in the US.....great place to go when I need to get my shopping fix!

It has a nice market that runs Monday - Saturday too.

These two ladies on the stilts came over and gave the kids high fives

Norwich has a castle....we didn't go inside though

The cathedral is beautiful too....inside and out, near and from afar.

I really loved the cloisters. These were in a scene in Harry Potter! :)

We had a little picnic on the cathedral grounds. Then the kids had to burn off what they ate.

There is also a little river that runs through the city. It has a nice long river walk. We were envious of the walking/bike path!
