Busy, Busy

We've been super busy lately. I thought I was doing good getting things together for our upcoming trip and getting the house ready for visitors. It all just kind of hit me and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed in making sure I get it all done. We're leaving Wednesday as soon as Allie gets off the bus from school. We have SO much going on tomorrow ( playdate, visiting Derek at work after Allie gets out of school because Miss Dottie has something to give the kids, birthday party). I still have to get a lot done so I won't have any free time tomorrow. With that said, I just wanted to take a few minutes to post some pictures.

A new tradition we added this year was the Elf on the Shelf. I was a little too excited to start this up because I saw so many fun ideas on where/how to hide the elf on Pinterest. So we started this the day after Thanksgiving! I don't know how many days I've woken up at 3 or 4 in the morning and had to force myself to get out of bed so the kids wouldn't be disappointed. Anyway, it's still worth the excitement for them but we definitely won't be starting it until at least the first day of December next year! The girls gave him the name of "Elfie the Helpy."

We let the kids open some presents tonight because we didn't want to drag them all to Indiana.......they LOVED it!
