City Museum

We decided to take a different route back to Texas this time around so we could take the kids to one of our very favorite museums.........the City Museum in St Louis. Derek and I had so much fun there back when we were stationed at Scott AFB. This was back before we had kids so we were a bit worried they might be too young. There are a lot of crazy things to do there......crazy heights, tight spaces, dark caves, tons of climbing and sliding and I could go on and on. On one of our trips back in the day our friend almost ripped his finger off! Needless to say, we were very cautious and kept the kids very close!! All three kids had a lot of fun. Allie impressed us with all that she did. Blake had no fear whatsoever and wanted to do more than what we would allow him to. Avery was the most nervous of all three but she still did a lot.
Now for the pictures.....

On the rooftop (this wasn't open when we were there last)
In the driver's seat of the bus
We slid down this 10 story curly slide from the rooftop to get back down to the bottom floor!

4th of July Weekend

For Independence Day this year we went to a cookout at my Uncle David & Aunt Jana's house. It was fun to hang out and visit with them and cousins that we don't get to see all that often. Glad we were able to get together before we left! The kids had a blast in swimming in their new swimming pool too! I'm regretting not getting a picture of Crystal and I because all of the kids kept getting us mixed up all night! So funny!
Trying for a mustache like Daddy
We weren't sure what to do that night. We didn't buy any fireworks this year. Heather had invited us out to her friend's house out in West Point.......they were setting off some huge fireworks. We contemplated going but in the end just felt awkward going to someone's house we didn't know. Instead we sat outside in our driveway and watched the fireworks going off around us. The neighbors across the street were also setting off some of the smaller ones and even brought over a box of sparklers for each of the kids. So generous!

On Friday, we had our first day in at least a week of sunshine! We headed out to Sandy & Mark's and they hosted a cookout for us and let us use their tubes to float on the Tippecanoe River. It was such a nice day! We were the only floaters out there.......and there were a few other boats.
This kid was getting so brave and kept dunking his head in the water
We stopped on a little island for a bit.....Mom didn't want to get up
Kiya showing me the shell she found
The island we stopped at, "Sandbar Island"
Glad Mom braved the waters (she's terrified of it) and came with us!

On Saturday we went to a cousin's wedding. The ceremony was unique (on a football field where the Groom used to play) but quite nice......and the girls had a BLAST at the reception. They are dancing queens!
This one started dancing the minute we got there.....on the chair
Just finished dancing with the bride
